GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

everything you might want to ask

How far in advance should I book a custom costume or gown?

For a custom dance costume, I recommend reaching out at least four to six weeks before you need it, and earlier for competition or congress season when my calendar fills up. Bridal and quinceañera gowns need more time — usually two to three months — so we can fit in stages without rushing.

Do you offer rush or last-minute alterations?

Whenever I can, yes. If a costume needs a quick fix before a performance or a congress, bring it to me with a little time to spare and I will do my best to get you stage-ready. The sooner you reach out, the more I can do.

What areas of Long Island do you serve?

I work with dancers and brides right across Long Island, including Nassau County, Suffolk County, Huntington, Hempstead, Long Beach and the surrounding towns. Because everything is made and fitted by hand, we simply plan the fittings together wherever you are.

How does the fitting process work?

I fit in person over a few sessions. We start with measurements and a first version of the piece, then refine the fit and the details at each fitting until it is exactly right. Nothing is final until it moves the way it should.

Can you add rhinestones or fringe to a costume I already own?

Absolutely. I regularly add hand-set rhinestones, fringe and trims to existing costumes, and I can rework or restructure a piece you already own so it feels brand new.

Do you make wedding and quinceañera dresses, or only dance costumes?

Both. Alongside salsa and Latin dance costumes, I create bespoke bridal gowns, quinceañera and sweet-sixteen dresses, and formal-event wear — and I handle alterations for all of them.

How do I get started?

Just get in touch and tell me what you have in mind. Everything begins with a conversation about the occasion, your body and how you want to feel. From there we plan the design, the fittings and the finish together.
